Victorian Government 20% Registration Rebate
Victorians will soon be able to apply for a 20% discount on their vehicle registration as part of cost-of-living relief measures.
From Monday 1 June to Friday 31 July 2026, eligible residents can apply for a 20% rebate on vehicle registration payments. This could save the average driver up to $186 per vehicle for the 2025–26 registration period.
Eligibility
The rebate is capped at two light vehicles per person. Eligible vehicle types include:
- Cars
- 4WD wagons
- Station wagons
- Motorcycles
- Utes
- Vans
- Light trucks
The rebate applies to eligible vehicles registered in an individual’s name for the period from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026.
How to apply
Applications will be open from Monday 1 June to Friday 31 July 2026. You can apply through the Service Victoria app or website.
