Prepare for the Worst

Injury and poor health can strike

Mary had an old Will in place. On one of her many overseas trips she stepped on an old wall for a better view, slipped and fell damaging her jaw and teeth.

She did not make a claim on her travel insurance as she had not kept the receipt of her dental work.

Later, after many further overseas trips, we were able to assist her update her Will and put in place a “Power of Attorney” and “Medical Power of Attorney” (or Medical Directive).

This was very fortunate as she was recently on yet another overseas trip when she became unwell and needed specialist care and was repatriated back to Australia by an overseas nurse. Unfortunately, this has meant that there will be no further overseas trips.

Fortunately, however, because of the Medical Power of Attorney that had previously been put in place, family members have been designated responsibilities to manage her medical care and other affairs.

This has greatly removed the stress for all and allowed Mary to continue to live at home whilst receiving home assistance.

Should you or any family members that need assistance getting your affairs in order before an accident or signatory power is lost, please contact us as soon as possible.
