Need to talk about your finances?

We are living in strange, uncertain times during the COVID-19 pandemic. Whilst social distancing has become a part of normal daily life for everyone, it doesn’t mean we also need to distance ourselves from talking about our finances. Now, more than ever, it is vital that you review your finances and learn about the many options that are available to you that can help you achieve your financial goals.

The next question is, where do you start? There is such an overwhelming amount of financial information available at our finger tips today, so much so that it can become stressful just finding a starting point. Even once you get started, it begins to become clear that you’re not sure what to believe or whom to trust. If you do happen to conduct your own research, there are some things that you should keep in mind:

  1. Credibility. Check the author and their source of information to ensure the information is trustworthy.
  2. Timeliness. When was the content written? Outdated information can harm your decision making and confuse things even more.
  3. Relevance. Don’t try to read all the information you come across. A lot of it won’t apply to you and could be a waste of your time.
